…yes, Friedman went further than Bob. Friedman had also become a market monetarist. He wanted to use the market not only to evaluate monetary policy, but also to implement monetary policy.

  1. This is also in Friedman’s book “Money Mischief.” It’s pretty clear he had not read Hall’s 1983 proposal, which tells me that Friedman was no longer keeping up with the academic literature by that time (the early 1990s?)
